University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี 2010 จากการรวมตัวของ University of Wales Lampeter และ Trinity University College Carmarthen โดย UWTSD ดำเนินการภายใต้พระราชบัญญัติที่ออกให้กับ University of Wales Lampeter ในปี 1828 ทำให้เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดในเวลส์ และรองจากมหาวิทยาลัยออกซฟอร์ดและเคมบริดจ์ในอังกฤษ นอกจากนี้ UWTSD ยังเป็นสถาบันการศึกษาระดับอุดมศึกษาแห่งแรกในเวลส์ และเป็นโรงเรียนศิลปะแห่งแรกในเมือง Swansea ที่มีอายุเก่าแก่ที่สุดในเวลส์ มีนักศึกษาประมาณ 15,000 คน
